Treatments

Retainers are considered to be a very important part of the whole treatment, as teeth are easily moved using appliances but holding them in a perfect position is much more difficult. Various types are available and you will be advised which is best for your teeth.

Bonded Wire Retainer
These seem, at first, to be the ideal solution but, in fact, they make cleaning much more difficult. They are used more for adults.

Vacuum Formed Retainer
These are used frequently, but must be worn as directed and will not last for ever.

Hawley Retainer
These are appropriate in many situations and are more hard wearing than vacuum formed retainers.
